A rich and creamy textured homemade chocolate cake. Perfect for any ocassion. This is a very rich cake and does not need any icing.
1/2 pound butter
1/2 cup shortening
3 cups sugar
5 eggs
3 cups flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 Tablespoons cocoa
1 cup milk
1 Tablespoon vanilla
Cream butter, shortening, and sugar.
Add one egg at a time, beating after each addition.
Sift together all dry ingredients.
Mix dry and wet, alternating with milk.
Add vanilla.
Pour into a 12 cup greased and floured tube or bundt pan.
Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until cake tests done.
